Hidden in the Library — A Salesforce Halloween Tale

Clouds gathered, and Astro shivered as shadows crept up the walls of Salesforce Tower. They were in the library, but something felt different. Despite the darkness, he could very clearly see all of them… lined up one by one in a neat row glaring back at him from one of the bookshelves. He flipped a switch and there they stood — powerful recommendations, with big strong muscles.

He exhaled, relaxed, and walked closer to the screen in awe and appreciation. Codey thought it would be fun to build a library-themed dashboard in Datorama.

But items on these shelves were not like the works of Leo Tolstoy or Victor Hugo. Instead, they were easy to read, and quick to consume. Also, Codey had put the Einstein Marketing Insights tool to use for making the strategic tweaks POP out… like a spooky ghost on Halloween night.

Astro was now happy that his dear friend helped him with the dashboard he had requested.

He knew that Brandy will be pleased to see it too.

This tiny tale was a fun one to write. It started as a spooky Salesforce prompt: “Clouds gathered, and Astro shivered as shadows crept up the walls of Salesforce Tower. They were in the library, but something felt different…” That’s all we got. I loved the idea!

I had fun rising to the challenge. It was fun weaving in tidbits about how useful some Datorama functionality is. As a powerful marketing intelligence tool, the platform makes it super easy for marketers to weave together data from disparate sources and glean valuable nuggets that can support their work (be it understanding past performance, seeing correlations across activities, preparing for future actions, et cetera).

And why should Astro be the only Salesforce mascot mentioned in the story? I weaved in others, including the newest — Brandy the marketer, a beneficiary of the work of her mascot peers.

How did I think to link the scary prompt to writing about Datorama? Simple — the world can be a very scary place for marketers without Datorama! 👻 Happy Halloween.
